The 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics are beginning to wrap up with less than a week of action to go. On this final Friday of the Games, there are exciting events from ice hockey to short track speed skating.

The U.S. men’s hockey team will face Slovakia in the semifinals at 3:10 p.m. as they eye the gold medal game. Team USA defeated Sweden 2-1 in the quarterfinals in a game that took overtime while Slovakia is coming off a 6-2 win over Germany. The U.S. men’s team is after its first gold medal since the “Miracle on Ice” in 1980.

Elsewhere, Kristen Santos-Griswold is competing in the short track speed skating 1500m event, with the medal event coming after the quarterfinal and semifinal — all on Friday.

The men’s biathlon 15km mass start medal event will feature Campbell Wright, the two-time runner-up at last year’s Biathlon World Championships.

Quinn Dehlinger is another American athlete with a chance to medal as he competes in the freestyle skiing men’s aerials. In the 2023 and 2025 world championships, he came in second place.

Elana Meyers Taylor already had an emotional win in the women’s monobob, earning her first gold medal and her sixth medal overall. At 41, she is the oldest bobsled medalist since 1956. She will compete in the bobsleigh two-women alongside 23-year-old Jadin O’Brien with a chance to add more hardware to her collection. Kaillie Humphries and Kaysha Love are other Americans to watch in the event.
