The 2026 NBA Finals will not be a sweep. The San Antonio Spurs took down the New York Knicks to the disappointment of a raucous Madison Square Garden crowd on Monday in Game 3 of the Finals. The Knicks still hold a 2-1 series lead, and the road team has won each game so far in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 is on Wednesday night back at MSG, which hosted an NBA Finals game on Monday for the first time since 1999. The Spurs’ win also means the series is guaranteed to go back to San Antonio for Game 5 on Saturday night. Each of the series’ first three games has been closely contested. In Game 3 on Monday, the Spurs got 32 points from Victor Wembanyama and pulled away from the Knicks in the fourth quarter after erasing a seven-point halftime deficit. Stephon Castle had 23 points in Game 3 for San Antonio, hitting a clutch 3-pointer late and knocking in the game-sealing free throws with six seconds remaining. The Knicks remain two wins away from their first NBA title since 1973, and they have a chance to take a commanding 3-1 series lead on Wednesday. They got 32 points from Jalen Brunson in Game 3, and OG Anunoby added another 28. The loss in Game 3 snapped the Knicks’ impressive 13-game playoff winning streak. It was a streak that spanned 46 days. New York trailed the Hawks, 2-1, in the first round before closing Atlanta out with three straight wins. The Knicks then swept the Sixers in the second round and the Cavs in the Eastern Conference Finals before taking the first two games of the NBA Finals against the Spurs. Here’s a look at the NBA Finals schedule, with a potential Game 7 on Friday, June 19.2026 NBA Finals schedule, scoresWednesday, June 3Game 1: Knicks 105, Spurs 95Friday, June 5Game 2: Knicks 105, Spurs 104Monday, June 8
