“As ever it’s patience, making sure we can hold our nerve to get the right players in who we feel can make a difference,” Parkinson told BBC Sport Wales.
Wrexham face Leeds in Tampa on Sunday, 26 July before taking on Liverpool in New York and Sunderland in Pennsylvania.
Parkinson stated: “I’d love to be able to be taking a couple of new signings on that tour. If it happens, great, if it doesn’t then we’ll work like we did when we were in Australia [last year].
“All the time over there we were working on the recruitment and we didn’t let it impact on formulating the squad we wanted.”
Fan favourite Mullin left the club by mutual consent while midfielder Tom O’Connor completed a permanent move to Peterborough United.
“Of course, along that journey players are going to have to go because of numbers which we’ve worked on with Paul going,” Parkinson added.
“Mo Faal has signed for Port Vale on a year’s loan and one or two others need to go out as well.”
