Northern Ireland’s McKibbin, alongside Tyrell Hatton, Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry, Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, David Puig and Elvis Smylie, have all been given conditional releases for the 2026 season only.In a statement, the DP World Tour reported that each member has accepted conditions to allow their release, which include “payment in full of all outstanding fines for breaches of the DP World Tour’s regulations” as well as “participation in additional stipulated DP World Tour tournaments, associated media activity and promotion” and “withdrawal of all pending appeals”.”The conditions these members have accepted will provide additional value to the DP World Tour and benefit to the entire membership,” the statement continued.”Provided each member satisfies the conditions of their individual releases, no disciplinary action under the regulations will be taken against them for playing in conflicting tournaments on LIV Golf in 2026 and they will retain their membership status.”The DP World Tour added that the releases are “not precedent-setting” and further requests for releases by other members will be “considered on their individual merits in accordance with the regulations that all members agree to abide by”.Disciplinary action will continue to be taken by the DP World Tour against members who compete in conflicting LIV events without a release.McKibbin joined Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf team for 2025 and claimed victory at the Hong Kong Open in November to qualify for the Masters for the first time and secure his place for The Open.Related topicsGolf
