Oxford recently returned from a pre-season training camp in Spain and beat Aldershot Town 3-1 in a friendly on Tuesday.

They will play friendlies against Barnet, Crawley Town and Ipswich Town before starting their League Cup campaign against Leyton Orient on 8 August, with their opening League One game of the season at home to MK Dons a week later.

The U’s have reported that they will be hoping to retain their current squad over the summer, and Ramsey believes that stance is something to be encouraged by.

“That’s a real sign of intent from from the owners,” Ramsey reported.

“I’m really pleased about that and excited to to get going with this group of players, I can empathise with the fans but I’m calm in this situation and I’ve been reassured that this will be resolved very quickly.

“Over the last few weeks we’ve had a really good start, the boys’ commitment and their standards have been exceptional and we’ve been asking a lot of them.

“They’ve responded really well to it so I can’t fault the effort of the players and we’ll just keep building on this.”
