Just weeks after he took over as boss, Oxford were told by the EFL that they would not be able to sign any players until they are compliant with their salary cost management protocol (SCMP) regulations.This is Ramsey’s first permanent management role in football having been interim Cardiff City boss for three games in 2025.Despite it looking unlikely that Oxford will be able to sign any players this transfer window, Ramsey is hoping that the current situation may be resolved before January. “I’ve been informed that will happen so hopefully it is the case,” he told BBC Radio Oxford.
“There’s a few things that need to be put in place over the next month or so, but I do see that being resolved before then.
“But this group of players have been brilliant and I’m just pleased that I have the opportunity now to really work with them.
“Me and my staff are fully committed to this, that’s been the message to the players and there’s enough quality in there to be competitive and to go places where we want to go this season.”
