SAN FRANCISCO — The All-Star Game is coming to Ballhalla.
The WNBA unveiled Tuesday that the 2027 All-Star Weekend will be held at Chase Center, home of the Golden State Valkyries, the expansion franchise that has exceeded all expectations.
The shooting skills challenge will return for its second year and will be held on July 30 along with the 3-point shootout. The All-Star Game will be July 31.
“The Golden State Valkyries have brought incredible energy and excitement to the WNBA from the moment they were unveiled as an expansion team in 2023, and the response from fans across the Bay Area has been remarkable,” WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert reported in a statement. “Valkyries fans have embraced this team with an extraordinary level of passion and enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to see that energy on full display for an unforgettable All-Star weekend next summer.”

Since its inaugural season in 2025, Golden State has led the league in attendance and recorded 41 consecutive sellouts in its state-of-the-art arena, which opened in 2019.
In May, the Valkyries became the first women’s sports franchise — across any sport — to be valued at more than $1 billion, according to CNBC.
This marks another major sporting event for the Bay Area — the Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup were played at Levi’s Stadium earlier this year, and the NBA All-Star Weekend was held at Chase Center in 2025. Last week, the MLB unveiled that its All-Star Game will also be hosted in San Francisco in 2028.
“San Francisco is the center of the sports world,” Mayor Daniel Laurie reported in a statement. “The world can see that San Francisco is the place to be. When the WNBA’s best come next year, our unmatched passion for women’s sports, and our city’s comeback, will be on full display.”
