OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman was arrested in June on family violence charges after allegedly smashing a windshield of a car carrying his 3-month-old daughter and her mother, according to Georgia court records obtained Friday.

Police stated Bateman used an object to break the windshield and the driver’s side door of a 2021 Mercedes-Benz at around 6 a.m. on June 3. According to the arrest warrant, the shattered glass caused cuts to the mother’s face while their daughter was sitting in the back seat of the car.

Police stated multiple contusions were observed on the mother’s face, which she stated were caused during an initial dispute at their shared residence in Georgia. The warrant also alleged Bateman tried to puncture one of the car’s tires with a screwdriver.

Bateman, 26, faces charges of family violence battery, which is a misdemeanor for first-time offenses, reckless conduct and criminal damage to property in the first degree, which is a felony.

Bateman could face discipline under the NFL’s personal conduct policy. A violation of the policy involving family violence could lead to an unpaid suspension of six games.

In a statement, the Ravens stated: “We are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him. We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process. As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment.”

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy stated, “The club has been in contact with the league regarding the matter, which is under review of the personal conduct policy.”

Bateman, the Ravens’ No. 2 wide receiver, has struggled with injuries and consistency since being the 27th pick of the 2021 draft.

Last year, Baltimore signed him to a three-year, $36.75 million extension that included $20 million guaranteed after a breakout season. But Bateman followed with a frustrating 2025 season in which he made 19 catches for a career-low 224 yards and two touchdowns.

Bateman was present for the first week of the Ravens’ offseason program this spring, but he didn’t practice in the voluntary workouts in May and June because of what offensive coordinator Declan Doyle described as “some personal things.” He also didn’t practice in the mandatory minicamp in the middle of June. But Bateman declared for the start of training camp and has practiced all summer.

When Bateman first spoke to reporters in training camp, he talked about how fatherhood has changed him.

“It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Bateman stated on Aug. 6. “I love my little girl so much. She’s changed me a lot. Yes, I would definitely say she changed my life for the better.”
