And then there were two in the women’s NCAA Tournament. South Carolina and UCLA will go head-to-head on Sunday afternoon for the 2026 national title. This comes after the Gamecocks took out previously unbeaten UConn and UCLA held off Texas in the Final Four on Friday night in Phoenix.
Every No. 1 seed made it to Phoenix, and all four teams were back in the Final Four for the second consecutive year.
UConn, the reigning champ, had its 54-game winning streak snapped Friday by South Carolina and Dawn Staley. The Gamecocks are looking for their third championship in five years and fourth overall.
UCLA, meanwhile, has never won the NCAA Tournament. But the Bruins have now won 30 straight games.
