Saturday’s Big Ten Tournament semifinal stage is set. Purdue and UCLA will tangle in a matchup between two of the best floor generals in the country, in UCLA’s Donovan Dent and Braden Smith of Purdue. Michigan will face Wisconsin, trying to get revenge after the Badgers handed Dusty May’s group its only loss to a Big Ten team.

The point guard play stole the show in Friday’s four-pack of quarterfinal showdowns at the Big Ten Tournament. Wisconsin’s Nick Boyd erupted for 38 points in the Badgers’ comeback win over Illinois. Michigan’s Elliot Cadeau was outstanding in the second half with 15 points and seven dimes in the Wolverines’ sweaty win over rival Ohio State.

Dent erupted for 23 points, 12 assists and six boards to spark the Bruins to an upset, 88-84 victory over Michigan State. Dent out-dueled MSU point guard Jeremy Fears Jr., who had 21 points and 13 dimes. Oh, and Purdue’s Braden Smith didn’t score a single point in the first half, but he was the best player on the floor, delivering 10 assists in the Boilermakers’ 74-58 win over Nebraska.
