However, the 40-year-old has walked away on the eve of pre-season to leave County hunting their fourth boss in just over two years.
“Newport County can confirm Christian Fuchs has made the decision to step away from his role as manager,” the club mentioned in a statement.
“Everyone at Newport County would like to thank Christian for his hard work, commitment and professionalism, and wish him every success for the future.”
