The Chicago Bears activated Ozzy Trapilo off the physically unable to perform list on Sunday, seven months after the left tackle ruptured a patellar tendon in the postseason.
Trapilo is now eligible to practice with the team in training camp.

The former second-round pick started six games at left tackle as a rookie, taking over in Week 12 and playing in the Bears’ win over the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round, where he sustained the injury.
Earlier this offseason, the Bears questioned whether they would have Trapilo at all during the 2026 season. He was placed on PUP at the start of training camp but was “hitting his hurdles,” according to coach Ben Johnson, paving the way for a return far sooner than expected.
The Bears are currently searching for their starting left tackle in a competition headlined by Braxton Jones, Kiran Amegadjie and Jedrick Wills Jr. It is unclear when Trapilo will factor into the mix, but his return with weeks remaining in training camp is a positive sign.
