England international Freya Godfrey has signed a new three-year contract with London City Lionesses.

The 21-year-old was a standout performer in their debut Women’s Super League season, earning several call-ups to the England senior squad in 2025-26.

The forward initially joined on loan from Arsenal in January 2025 before securing a permanent move to London City last summer.

She was voted the Players’ Player of the Season with six goals and four assists as London City Lionesses finished their first WSL campaign in sixth place.

In the previous season, Godfrey played a key role as London City won the WSL 2 title and secured promotion to the top-flight for the first time.

“I’m made up to sign a new contract at London City. I’ve loved my time here so far,” stated Godfrey.

“We have world class players here, people who have won World Cups, Champions League titles and know what it takes to win. I’m training and playing alongside players I looked up to when I was growing up.

“A big part of a young player’s development is game time and having been given time, I feel I’ve come on in leaps and bounds on the pitch and also off the pitch.”
