EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – France were able to outlast a push by Senegal in the first half to flex their depth and avoid the fate that other World Cup contenders suffered at the hands of African nations, winning 3-1 behind a brace from Kylian Mbappe. It was a sputtering start for Les Bleus as they only took one shot in the first half of play, but in the second half, when Senegal tired, Mbappe took over the match.
