The Oklahoma City Thunder took Game 5 of the back-and-forth Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs and are now just one win away from returning to the NBA Finals for a second straight year. That makes them odds-on title favorites — a status they’ve held for much of the postseason — once again at -140. San Antonio, on the brink of elimination, is +550 to win the championship.
The New York Knicks punched their ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 and have the second-shortest odds to win the title at +205. The Knicks entered the postseason with 18-1 championship odds, trailing both the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, whom they swept in the Eastern Conference finals.
Roughly in line with the team future odds, each squad’s superstar is a favorite to win Finals MVP. Regular-season MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the way at -135, with Jalen Brunson (+270), Victor Wembanyama (+650) and Karl-Anthony Towns (15-1) in chase.
