With their dominating sweep of the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the playoffs, the New York Knicks have firmly entered the title contenders’ conversation, shortening to +600 to win the NBA Finals and an odds-on -165 to win the Eastern Conference.
New York awaits the winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers-Detroit Pistons series, which the latter is currently favored to win at -250 odds. Detroit shows 20-1 on the championship odds board and Cleveland is 45-1, good for fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder are out to -175 to win the NBA Finals, their shortest odds yet, as they look to eliminate the Los Angeles Lakers, who are 500-1 title long shots.
Meanwhile, the second-round series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs has gotten very interesting and is tied at two games apiece. San Antonio remains second on the odds board at +400, while Minnesota improved from 100-1 to 65-1 with its win in Game 4 on Sunday.
Odds are provided by DraftKings Sportsbook and are as of publication.
