Newcastle United are holding out for their £75m valuation of England winger Anthony Gordon as Bayern Munich close in on agreeing a five-year deal with the 25-year-old. (Times – subscription required), external

Liverpool retain confidence in striker Alexander Isak, 26, and are looking at 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande and 21-year-old Norway forward Antonio Nusa, who both play for RB Leipzig, as well as 23-year-old France forward Bradley Barcola, who is at Paris St-Germain, as possible options to help bring the best out of the Sweden international.
