Raducanu battles into Queen’s semis but Boulter goes outImage source, Getty ImagesImage caption, Raducanu fell over in the second setByAlistair WatkinsBBC Sport senior journalistPublished1 hour agoEmma Raducanu overcame an injury scare to reach the Queen’s semi-finals but Katie Boulter’s title bid ended with a straight-sets loss to Donna Vekic.British number one Raducanu went off court for medical treatment in the second set of her quarter-final but came through to beat Kamilla Rakhimova 6-3 7-5.The match was also interrupted in the first set because of the noise of a series of military aircraft flying overhead as part of the King’s Trooping the Colour flypast in central London.Raducanu, 23, will return later on Saturday to face American teenager Iva Jovic at 17:20 BST for a place in Sunday’s final.She has yet to lose a set in the tournament but now faces the prospect of having to win two matches in a day to continue her excellent run this week.”It was really tricky, she played some incredible tennis and got a lot of balls back,” Raducanu told BBC TV after overcoming Rakhimova. “It was an up-and-down match and I’m really grateful for the support I had in some tough moments.”It was tough to take the fall, I was in a good spot in the match and I found it tough to regroup, but I am proud how I did that with the help of you guys here.”Boulter won two matches on Friday, including a superb victory over world number two Elena Rybakina in her quarter-final.
But the 29-year-old, perhaps feeling the effects of her efforts from the previous day, struggled from the start of her semi-final and fell to a disappointing 6-1 6-3 defeat.
