Nat Sciver-Brunt’s breezy 32 helped Trent Rockets to a three-wicket win over Southern Brave which rubber stamped their place in the final of The Hundred.
The Rockets had made a sluggish start in pursuit of 118 and were 10-3 after 25 balls – the lowest powerplay score in the history of the women’s tournament.
However, they recovered from the early loss of key batters Sophia Dunkley and Beth Mooney to chase the total down with two balls to spare.
Ash Gardner’s 37 off 24 balls – including a towering six straight down the ground – laid the platform on a tricky pitch.
Sciver-Brunt then seized the initiative with a fluent cameo off 19 balls, having batted lower down the order at number seven.
