The Pittsburgh Steelers and tight end Darnell Washington have reached agreement on a four-year, $42 million extension, sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

The deal includes $21M guaranteed.

Washington was eligible for a new deal as a 2023 draft pick (Round 3 out of Georgia). He had participated in individual drills at Steelers OTAs this week.

In his three seasons in Pittsburgh, the 6-foot-7 Washington has 57 catches for 625 yards and two touchdowns in 50 games.

The Steelers, meanwhile, have been active on the contract front this week. The agreement with Washington came a day after the team reached a four-year, $100 million extension with linebacker Nick Herbig.
