West Ham have signed England forward Ebony Salmon on a two-year deal following her exit from Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old, who has four England caps, made 75 appearances for Villa before leaving upon the expiry of her contract at the end of the season.

Salmon began her career at Villa, progressing from their academy and into the first team before joining Manchester United in 2018.

“I’m really excited to join West Ham United and begin this next chapter of my career,” she reported.

“After the conversations I had with Rita [Guarino] and others at the club, it just seemed like the right fit for me.

“I’m really looking forward to getting started, meeting all of my team-mates and the fans, and helping West Ham push on this season.”

Salmon spent a season on loan at Sheffield United and later joined Bristol City, before spells with Racing Louisville and Houston Dash in the United States.

She becomes the seventh summer signing for Guarino’s side after West Ham finished third from bottom in the Women’s Super League standings last term.
