  • The No. 1 pick in the 2026 WNBA draft, Fudd walked into the Wings’ locker room with a cap and gown on and one-by-one shook the hands of her teammates. Dallas forward Alysha Clark waited in the center, shaking Fudd’s hand before delivering her diploma.

“Congratulations on … your degree master princess,” Clark reported, a reference to Fudd’s “The People’s Princess” nickname.

“Thank you,” Fudd replied, laughing. “This is the best grad gift ever.”

The 23-year-old Fudd also received a new bottle of tequila to celebrate the achievement. Clark then moved Fudd’s tassel on her pink cap from right to left.

Fudd earned her bachelor’s degree in communication in May 2024, before pursuing a master of business administration degree. UConn’s commencement ceremony for graduate degrees was on Monday — two days after the Wings’ season opener.

In her final year with the Huskies, Fudd averaged 17.3 points while being named to the CSC Academic All-America First Team. She also earned the Big East women’s basketball scholar athlete of the year award. As of March, Fudd had maintained a 3.57 cumulative GPA.

She had 3 points on 1-of-2 shooting in 18 minutes in her WNBA debut, a 107-104 win against the Indiana Fever. Fudd missed Dallas’ following game on Tuesday due to a right knee injury.
