Amazon MGM Studios has set a release date for The Beekeeper 2, confirming when the R-rated Jason Statham sequel will hit theaters. The studio scheduled the follow-up for a future Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, echoing the successful timing of the first film’s release.

Amazon MGM Studios has officially set a release date for The Beekeeper 2. The sequel will debut in theaters on January 15, 2027, aligning with the Martin Luther King Jr. four-day holiday weekend, as per Deadline. The original film, The Beekeeper, was released during a similar time on January 12, 2024.
In The Beekeeper, retired assassin Adam Clay seeks revenge after a phishing scam drives his landlady to suicide. His mission uncovers a vast fraud network tied to a powerful tech empire and political influence.
The Beekeeper grossed $162.6 million worldwide and received a 92% Verified Hot rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Amazon MGM Studios acquired global distribution rights for The Beekeeper 2 in a deal valued at over $50 million, as revealed by Deadline.
Timo Tjahjanto directs the sequel, while Kurt Wimmer, who also wrote the original, returns as the screenwriter. Jason Statham reprises his lead role as Adam Clay. Jeremy Irons, Yara Shahidi, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, Pom Klementieff, and Adam Copeland join the supporting cast.
Miramax finances and produces the sequel. Jason Statham produces through his Punch Palace Productions banner, along with Chris Long through Longshot Productions, and Kurt Wimmer.
The Beekeeper 2 will open against Universal and Blumhouse’s untitled event film, as well as Paramount’s Children of Blood and Bone. The studio mirrors the first film’s successful MLK weekend release strategy.
