Chris Pratt isn’t done with Star-Lord, and according to him, the character’s return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe stretches far beyond Avengers: Secret Wars. While the actor keeps specific plot details tightly locked, he’s made one thing clear: his plan for a Star-Lord return is big, long-term, and “f**king great.”

Get ready to see Star-Lord for at least one more decade

During a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast while promoting Mercy, Pratt opened up about where Peter Quill could go next in the MCU. He verified that discussions with Marvel have happened, but stopped short of confirming appearances in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. “Yes and no,” Chris Pratt reported when asked if he knew definitively how Marvel plans to use Star-Lord going forward.

That uncertainty, however, doesn’t mean a lack of direction. Pratt revealed that he has already pitched a clear idea to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. “I’m happy to do anything they want me to do and will,” he reported. “And also, I personally have a really strong vision of what I would want him to do. And I think it’s f**king great.”

This vision, Pratt explained, ties into Marvel’s broader plans. He sees himself contributing to the next decade of stories, suggesting that the Star-Lord return won’t be a one-off cameo but part of a longer narrative arc. That lines up with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s closing promise that “The legendary Star-Lord will return.”

Pratt also addressed the possibility of leading another Guardians team, even without longtime collaborator James Gunn in the director’s chair. While he admitted that a Gunn reunion would be ideal, he acknowledged it’s unlikely given Gunn’s current role at DC Studios. Still, Pratt sounded optimistic about finding a new creative partner, saying Marvel would “find the right guy” to helm a future Star-Lord movie.
